Film review - 40 Year Old Virgin at the UGC Cinema, Great Park, Rubery
ALTHOUGH this film has been out on release for a couple of weeks, I felt it deserved a review.
The story of Andy's (Steve Carell) plight to lose his virginity provides an endearing story that audiences will find difficult not to enjoy, with an excellent supporting cast featuring Paul Rudd (Mike from 'Friends') providing some of the best lines.
The scenes at speed dating and in the wax parlour are hilarious and show a genuine enjoyment on the cast's faces.
My only criticism is that the film maybe slightly too long at just under two hours. However, the topic is dealt with in a funny but mature way, leaving the audience to enjoy the film in the light hearted way it should be, without it feeling uncomfortable.
The film is easily one of the funniest of the year, and as the slogan says: 'Better late than never!'
