BROMSGROVE continued their remarkable end to the season by sealing a mid-table place in the Birmingham and District League Division One on Saturday.
The Boars, who three weeks ago had seemed in danger of relegation, cemented seventh place after a comfortable win over the bottom side.
Victory was inspired by New Zealander Nick Edwards' century, after Cannock had recorded a testing score of 226.
Cannock's Australian, Graham Wright led his team with 77.
Captain Nick Davies (3-56) was the pick of the Boars' bowlers, while Nick Husbands (1-45) and Mark Evenson (3-60) also chipped in.
Bromsgrove's reply though started slowly, when Davies was bowled for 12 runs.
But Edwards kept his side on course for victory with 108, while Richard Barnes added late runs with 70 not out.
l Bromsgrove can end what has been a traumatic season escaping relegation on a high if they defeat Stratford at home on Saturday, September 17 (12.30pm start).
