WHY do we have all these reality programs on television? What happened to entertainment? Especially on Saturday night.
The programmes are mainly aimed at a younger audience, who are likely to be out clubbing at week-ends. There isn't much for the older viewer - who mostly pay the TV licence. Why not a show, we used to have the London Palladium, it was something to look forward to at the week-end. There must be a lot of entertainers such as comedians, singers and musical acts who are slowly losing their living.
The money paid out in these prize-giving programmes could be paid to real entertainers. Instead they give soap stars another opportunity to be seen like last week on Who Wants to be a Millionaire ? and sometimes on Stars In Their Eyes. They are already earning a living, lets have some new faces.
Also why do we have to see so many adverts - sometimes within five minutes of the programme starting? I have counted as many as 11. We know it raises lots of money but it's not being spent on decent programmes.
