GHOSTBUSTERS have been called into Bromsgrove's Euphoria nightclub to make friends with spooks reportedly seen in the building.

James Hyde, manager at the Worcester Road club, says a woman in white regularly walks down the stairs and into the bar with her head bowed and then disappears.

On other occasions a male apparition has been seen by staff in upstairs rooms. Staff believe the ghost is responsible for throwing bottles and glasses about and opening and shutting doors.

"I have seen the woman quite a few times," said James. "She is medium height with long brown hair. I am not frightened, but the atmosphere is cold when she appears. The man is dressed in black."

Manager of Euphoria for the last six months, James explained that the nightclub was set up in a converted church about six years ago.

"Ever since I became manager I decided to find out as much about these ghosts as I could. I am happy for them to remain, I just want to know why they are here," he said.

Members of the West Midlands Ghost Club set up their equipment in the disco and lay in wait for more than four hours, but saw nothing.

Member Nick Duffy said: "We never arrive anywhere and presume we are going to see a ghost because we like to be as objective as possible. We use audio and visual and temperature reading equipment, but on this occasion detected nothing significant."

Nick said his club members were planning to return for an all-night vigil. The nightclub manger said he had also contacted the television programme Haunted for help and if all else failed he would contact a medium.
