DOREEN Bawn recorded a notable hat-trick at Evesham Bowls Club's finals weekend.
The section captain reached four finals winning the singles title with a 21-11 defeat of Pauline Hodge, defeating Mary Shephard 17-14 in the Two-Wood Singles and teaming up with Gary Hunt to take the Mixed Doubles 18-13 after trailing 11-2 to Chris Marshall and Brian Quarterman.
The treble topper's only setback came in the Triples where the winners were Shephard, Cynthia McSweeney and Jean Hemms who overcame Bawn, Mary Satterley and Ellen Upton 20-9.
Satterley and Lois Bearder won the Ladies Pairs after a 23-11 win over Pauline Johnson and Hea-ther Quarterman.
The finals of the Men's Singles and Handicap Singles were both closely fought with Nigel Gould taking the former 21-20 against Dave Brotherton who then defeated Stephen Hill 21-19 in the handicap competition.
Geoff Passey led Brian Quarterman 10-5 in the Two-Wood Singles only to lose 14-11, while the Men's Pairs saw Passey and Keith Jones lead Keith Bridgewater and Jamie Curtis 17-11 only to lose the last four ends in a 24-18 reverse.
Passey, Gould and Quarterman trailed 16-7 after 12 ends of the Men's Triples only to hit back and overcome Tom Brunskill, Mike Parsons and Gary Hunt 19-16, while another close-fought match ended with Brian Haines winning the Bob Calder Mixed Singles after a 21-19 win over Pauline Hodge.
