COLIN Green recorded some excellent victories at the Disability Sport England National Table Tennis Games at Stoke-on-Trent.
The Evesham based player was playing in his first ever national competition as a wheelchair athlete, competing in the 1-3 Class Singles where he overcame National squad players to reach the final.
However, Green (pictured right) narrowly lost in the fifth game having twice led his opponent during the match at 1-0 and 2-1. He was pegged back in the fourth before losing a close fifth game.
This was a most impressive start to Gre-en's campaign and he will be hoping for more success at next month's BTTAD National Championships in Grantham.
Green plays locally at the Evesham Sports College on Friday evenings supporting local youngsters.
