WORK begins next week to install £500,000 of lifts in Redditch's Kingfisher Centre.
The programme is expected to be completed early next year and will see two new £10,000 lifts in Car Park 2 and three in Car Park 3.
Kingfisher Centre manager Ian McLelland said half of the disabled spaces in Car Park 2 would be moved to Car Park 3 with vacant spaces left for "Parent and Child" shoppers.
He said: "We've had lots of complaints about disabled spaces being concentrated in one car park, but we had to make this arrangement because lifts in Car Park 3 haven't worked for so long."
Mr McLelland added there would be minimum disturbance to shoppers while construction work was going on and one lift would be operational at any one time.
