MEMBERS of Throckmorton CPSC and visitors were greeted with fine weather for the first shoot in September.
Also joining the regulars were members of Royal Oak Shooting Ground who participated in the 50-bird Sporting competition.
The Sporting layout succeeded in challenging the best of the competitors with the highest score set at 52/60 by Throckmorton's John Tarplee.
However, that was soon to be caught by scores of 50/60 from John Pedley, Adam Barnfield and junior, Simon Jones, who managed to fend off some of his older counterparts from the top of the leader board.
Competition was highly fierce on the Skeet and maximums were recorded by Brian Smith and Cliff Hawkes.
John Arnold and Alf Symonds came close to a complete score but were unlucky to both drop a bird.
Three maximums were achieved in the Down the Line courtesy of Rod Davies and Gary Shaw (25/25, 74ex75), who were closely followed by M Harris (25/24, 73/75) with a duo if second barrels.
