DAVE Boddy insists victory over unknowns Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round is "vital" to Worcester City's coffers.
A series of below-par attendances at St George's Lane has increased the pressure on City overcoming the Sydenhams Wessex League Division One side, with £4,500 prize money going to the winners.
Only 734 spectators turned up for City's 1-0 home defeat to Harrogate on Saturday, four less than the 738 paying at the gate for last month's 2-1 win over Gainsborough.
The 2-1 loss to Droylsden also attracted just 816, leaving Worcester "under budget" on gate receipts.
"It's vital financially that we do well in the FA Cup," said City chairman Boddy. "Particularly as the league gates are running under budget so far.
"I've been disappointed with the early crowds this season. But that's happened because results have not gone our way."
Despite their poor run of form, City will be hot fav-ourites to progress.
Boddy said: "I'm delighted with the draw. You can only ask for a home draw against lower-graded opposition.
"But cup ties like this are potential banana skins.
"Bemerton will certainly be up for it and will be coming here with every intention of causing an upset."
