IT'S been a long time coming, but it appears that, for Warndon Villages at least, there is some semblance of a 'joined-up transport policy' being prepared by our council and First.
The new Wroutes, despite the tortuous overuse of the silent W, are very welcome. It would be interesting to find out what, if any, local consultation was done.
The termination of the 39A bus service from the villages into the city caused my family, some concern. The 39A was very useful for children travelling to and from Bishop Perowne. The Wroutes are ideal for getting kids to and from schools, even if it does mean a little bit of extra exercise.
There are still some issues, including the cost. I overheard a conversation between a couple getting on at the Perdiswell park-and-ride, where they were saying that the cost was exactly the same as parking in the city centre - very little incentive there then for using the new service.
