WORCESTER Warriors' director of rugby John Brain says his team can be a match for anyone after they came from behind to snatch victory at London Irish.
Warriors claimed a dramatic 20-15 win at the Madejski Stadium to be among the early front-runners in the Guinness Premiership.
Brain said: "We've got a group of guys who believe they can beat anyone, anywhere in this league but the margins are very tight. There's only one or two stand-out teams."
Brain watched his side score a late penalty try and Shane Drahm put the icing on the cake with an excellent drop goal.
"I think it is more difficult to come from behind when you are away," said Brain. "Very often, when you are away the momentum is with the other team.
"We're a well-conditioned side and quite a powerful team although we don't always play like that. But we're pleased with that aspect."
Andy Gomarsall made his competitive debut for Warriors at scrum-half but didn't see a great deal of the ball as Irish dominated possession.
One area of concern for Brain and his coaching staff was the line-out.
His team were less clinical than usual and it looked like costing them the game until the breakthrough try two minutes from time.
Brain said: "We've misfired in that area so far this season for me. It's just some basic decision-making and poor throwing at times.
"We've got to improve that area. It's a concern for us and something to improve on for next week."
Fly-half James Brown came off after straining medial ligaments but Brain thinks the injury is not cause for undue concern.
He said: "We don't think it's a serious strain or tear in that area. Our physio thinks at this stage that he won't be out for too long."
But overall Brain was delighted with Worcester's unbeaten start to the season. He said: "Wins in this league are hard to come by, especially away victories.
"We battled away. There were times when we were under a lot of pressure but we showed a lot of character and came through that.
"We got the penalty try and it was a nice bit of class from Shane for the drop goal."
Worcester's 'A' team travel to Welford Road tonight to take on Leicester Tigers.
