Worcester City women are preparing for their biggest match in the club's short history in the shape of Yeovil Town in the FA Cup tomorrow (2pm).
The first qualifying round tie at St George's Lane is the first time City women have ever taken part in the country's top domestic cup competition.
Their inclusion followed last season's promotion to the West Midlands Premier League Division One South, three divisions below the top flight.
City finished runners-up in the Kidderminster and County Women's League and took their place in the improved standard when champions Malvern Town declined to enter.
It proved the latest success story for the women's side since its creation three years ago. In 2002/03, they achieved a league and cup double under the reigns of Vicky Andrews.
Andrews stepped down this summer to concentrate fully on playing for Worcester, so Paul Hennessey, former academy coach at the club, now manages the side.
City, who draw players from across Worcestershire, kicked off their new season last Saturday with a 6-1 mauling of Leamington Lions at their Bilford Road home.
Yeovil present a different proposition but the club's chairman, Debbie Band, admits the squad is confident of putting on a show.
"This is the biggest game in our history," said Band. "Everybody is really excited about playing in the FA Cup.
"Yeovil are a good club. It's going to be a tough game but the girls are up for it and we are hoping to get as much support as possible. We are going to go and enjoy it and try to play our best.
"When the girls play at their best, they are a good side. I'm sure we will give an excellent account of ourselves.
"It would be smashing to have a lot of people at the ground. We'll have plenty of support and the young girls from the U14s and U16s sides will be ball girls.
"We are grateful to Dave Boddy and the club for their support and to allow us to play this game at St George's Lane."
City return to league action next Sunday when they host Ross Town before travelling to Copsewood the following Sunday.
After beating Leamington convincingly on the opening day, the signs look promising for another successful league campaign.
But Band admits there is no great pressure on the team to pick up any silverware.
Band added: "It was a great win against Leamington obviously, we have gone up a level and we don't know what to expect.
"The challenge for us is to get better and I believe we will playing good teams every week. Our ambition is to find our level. There is no pressure on ourselves but to play good quality football.
"We want to go as far as we can. We want to improve year on year and we have done that so far."
Admission for Worcester City women's FA Cup tie with Yeovil is £2 for adults and £1 concessions.
Pegasus Ladies entertain Brize Norton Ladies from Oxfordshire in the FA Women's Cup first qualifying round at Old School Lane tomorrow (2pm).
