PETER Tork must have been musing on his own career when he entitled his first solo album Stranger Things have Happened.
From humble beginnings playing New York's bars, he was chosen from among hundreds of hopefuls to join Mickey Dolenz, Davy Jones and Michael Nesmith in portraying a zany American band in The Monkees TV show.
The Monkees enjoyed instant worldwide fame on a scale to match any of today's carefully packaged groups.
Now Tork is bringing his first UK tour to Worcester along with James Lee Stanley and Chris Conway.
Since his 1996 album, Tork and Stanley have collaborated on an unplugged album called Two Man Band.
Fans can expect much of this, a mix of songs culled from his Monkees days as well as his own solo work.
6 The three play at Huntingdon Hall next Thursday at 8pm. Call the box office on 01905 611427.
