HEREFORD'S David Park is hoping some inside knowledge can help get his season back on track when the Welsh Open starts tomorrow.
The 25-year-old joins Crowle's John Bickerton and Evesham's Jeremy Robinson in the field at the Celtic Manor Hotel near Chepstow.
But he has an advantage over most of the field as he bids to overcome a problem with inconsistency which has seen him make the cut just once in his last three tournaments.
"I have a friend who's a member at the course so I play there during the winter and it's a good course," said Park.
"I'm just not playing too well at the moment, it's not far from coming good but I'll have to wait and see if the form can come back here.
"It's just that I've been playing a little inconsistently and it has been difficult to put my finger on."
Park's best performance of the season came at the Greg Norman Holden International at Sydney in February when he came fifth to earn just under £34,000 in prize money.
It started a run of five top 25 finishes in his next six tournaments but he has since found form hard to come by on the European Tour.
He failed to make the cut in two of his last three tournaments but was back in the prize at Wentworth last weekend.
"I didn't play particularly well but to make the cut is always nice and you want to get paid for playing a couple of extra days," he added.
