CALLING all readers who are caring for someone who is disabled, ill or elderly.
As Outreach Worker for Worcester Welfare Rights Centre (WWRC), I urge you to claim all your benefits and check out entitlement for the person you care for.
About one in seven adults are caring for someone. Many are grossly under-claiming their benefits and miss out on a broad range of financial support and other entitlements.
Carers' benefits will come under the spotlight at free advice sessions marking National Carers' Week from Monday, June 12.
Independent Benefit experts from WWRC will be on hand at Warndon Community Centre on Wednesdays June 14 and 21, from 1.30 to 3.30pm, and at Tolladine Community Centre on Thursdays June 15 and 22, from 10am-noon. For more information contact Valery, WWRC Outreach Worker, on 01905 612774.
VALERY NICHOLSON,
Community Outreach Worker.
