MY remarks last week about the growing number of cameras focusing their electronic squint on us provoked a swift reaction from Councillor David Clark.
I had pondered as to why "safe" Worcester seemed to need so many of the things.
Coun Clark, who is part of the radio surveillance programme City Net, took the view that the city's safety record was due to the existing cameras and that more of them would lead to Worcester being correspondingly safer still.
As well those sprouting in the central part of the city, additional cameras could soon be on the way, for those of you who feel reassured by CCTV.
The Labour group may not be in a position to impose its ideas on the Faithful City any more.
But the Tories might be interested in adopting the proposal laid out in Labour's manifesto prior to the city elections, which suggested that the next site for cameras should be St John's.
