CHILDREN at a Worcester primary school are being taught a seasonal safety message - how to stay safe in the sun.
Youngsters from Dines Green Primary were taken to Bishop's Wood Environmental Centre where they built willow structures in the playground to shelter on sunny days.
Some of the pupils also bought sun hats to protect themselves against harmful rays.
"The health improvement target in Worcester is to save 79 lives a year by preventing deaths from cancer, accidents and heart disease," said Marlene Cooper, the school's headteacher.
"Our children have an important part to play in promoting healthy living and the willow sunscreens were a fun way to encourage the children to protect themselves and learn about the dangers of the sun."
For their efforts the children were presented with a Healthy School certificate by Jacqui Cravos, chairman of Worcestershire Health Authority.
