AN historic tradition entered its fifth century this week.
The Church Street Supper was held at St Mary's Chantry on Friday, Midsummer's Eve, preceded by the established practice of distributing loaves and plum cakes to the Church Street, Kidderminster, community.
It dates back to 1778 when John Bracknell left £150 to promote peace and goodwill in the area.
This year's millennium supper, hosted by Canon Owain Bell from St Mary's Church, was attended by 45 people and raised £175 for Friends of St Mary's.
