IN-FORM Bromsgrove Rovers are set for more transfer activity before tomorrow's Dr Martens League Western Division game at Rocester (3.00).

Manager Steve Daley, who has steered Rovers to four successive league wins, has snapped up central midfielder Andy Biddle from Alvechurch, and hopes to complete the signings of Halesowen Harriers winger Inderjit Rai and ex-Stourbridge front man Lee Bullimore.

However, Rovers are also trying to fend off an approach from promotion-chasing Stafford Rangers for skipper Mark Bowater. The central defender recently turned down a move to Redditch United.

Chief executive Pat Bannister said: "It is important while things are going well to keep improving all the time, and look to build on the squad we have got."

Bannister is delighted with the way the team has responded to their off-the-field financial troubles, which has seen Daley and his assistant Phil Parkes volunteer to go without their wages.

"On the field there are no complaints at all. We knew the team was capable of playing well, it was just getting the confidence out of them."

Rovers will be confidence of picking up a fifth successive win at Rocester, who are two places below them in 18th.

But they have several injury doubts for the trip to Staffordshire, notably defender John Humphreys, midfielder Ryan Daley and front man Mark Benbow. Defender Alex Winstone remains on the sidelines.

New boy James Cooper could be in line for his first start after playing in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup victory over Ledbury Town in midweek.
