BATSMAN Ryan Driver will make his NatWest Trophy debut for Worcestershire when they take on holders Gloucestershire in a third round clash at New Road tomorrow.
The Truro-born 21-year-old previously played in the competition for Cornwall against Warwickshire in 1996.
Back leading the side will be Graeme Hick following his ap-pearance for England in the First test against the West Indies at Edgbaston.
Worcestershire will be hoping to complete a quick limited-overs 'double' against Gloucestershire who suffered a 21 runs defeat when the sides met in last week's floodlit Norwich Union National League Division One match at New Road.
Worcestershire coach Bill Athey said today: "Gloucestershire are defending the NatWest Trophy and will be stung into action by what happened to them last Wednesday."
County paceman Alamgir Sheriyar, who has been struggling with a knee injury recently, is not included into tomorrow's side while Reuben Spiring, Philip Weston, Duncan Catterall and Gavin Haynes are also on the casualty list.
Weston and Haynes, who both had knee surgery before the start of the season, are due to step up their bid for full fitness by playing for Worcestershire in a Second Eleven Championship fixture against Leicestershire, starting at Hinckley tomorrow.
Although returning to first team action for the recent matches against the West Indies and Nottinghamshire, opening batsman Weston is unfortunately still experiencing some reaction to the knee problem. Spiring's long-term knee injury continues to cause concern, while young paceman Catterall has a deep-seated groin injury.
The winners of tomorrow's tie will visit Leicestershire or Northumberland in the next round on Wednesday, July 5.
Worcestershire: Pollard, Wilson, Hick, Solanki, Leatherdale, Driver, Rhodes, Lampitt, Illingworth, Kabir Ali, McGrath. 12th man: Rawnsley.
