DEAR friends and neighbours of Malvern Rugby Football Club, we have been through the various issues of planning, raising money and indeed the ceremony of cutting the first sod with the chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, Pat Raven, and the new Town Council mayor, David Williams.
It is now time to turn the dream into a reality, and provide, not only a centre of excellence for West Midlands rugby for all ages in the locality from five upwards but also give the local community a centre which we hope will be able to service far more needs than just rugby, from both a sporting and social perspectives.
During this period the building will take place, as well as the erection of the perimeter fencing, and we do apologise for minor noise or disturbance as we endeavour to conclude the building project as quickly as possible.
The long term aim of having a facility for the use of the local people, in whatever form that takes, and having a clean area free of dog excrement and glass, is a reality.
I would like to thank Malvern Hills District Council for its hard work and assistance with this project and look forward to working with the Town Council on future issues and projects.
DAVID BEECH, chairman, Malvern Rugby Football Club, Spring Lane, Malvern.
