KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Jan Molby plans to step his bid to sign Danish trialist Rene Petersen.

Molby was impressed by the midfielder when he played in Harriers 5-3 pre-season friendly victory at Gloucester City on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who plays in Belgium, is rated in the £20,000 bracket. But Molby says there is a "pretty good" chance of him signing.

Petersen has now returned home along with two other trialists who figured in the match at Gloucester, Per Hansen and Thomas Rasmussen.

Hereford United fans will have their first chance to see five newcomers in action when they open their home programme of pre-season friendlies against First Division Wolves tonight (7.45pm).

On parade will be former Halesowen Town pair Steve Piearce and Rob Elms, Craig Hanson, and James Wall from Derby County Leroy May from Kidderminster Harriers.

Paul Fewings, who missed virtually all of last season through injury, is back in action again, while John Snape will also be in the line-up. Part-timer Snape missed Monday's match at Evesham United, which the Bulls won 2-0, because he was still on holiday.

Turner said: "There were some areas of our game with Evesham where I was disappointed -- particularly our passing. But, after training on hard pitches, the players had to contend with slicker conditions."
