Moreton-in-Marsh Interest & Leisure Club: Riverboat trip from Maidenhead to Windsor. The weather outlook for the day did not promise to be fine, but in fact there was very little rain en-route to Maidenhead where members from two coaches were dropped to board Salters boat. The well-kept homes were mostly very luxurious and the pretty gardens sloping down to the river bank were much admired by members, as were the locks with their decorative gardens. It was a relaxing and leisurely pace to Windsor and coming round a bend near Windsor the castle came into view in all its splendour - an impressive sight. Everyone disembarked and most members had lunch at venues of their choice. The sun came out in the afternoon enabling members to explore the town and shop if they wished. After tea it was back to the coaches for the homeward run. Near Chipping Norton the heavens opened and it rained until arriving at Moreton, when it stopped. Mr and Mrs Dudley Smith were thanked for arranging such a good day, as were both drivers for taking everyone.
BLIND ASSOCIATION EVENT: On Sunday, the North Cotswold Friends of the Glos Association for the Blind are holding Open Gardens at Bourton on the Hill by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Plaice, from 1-5pm. Teas in the tythe barn and plant sales.
