GOLF: Mark Cox was the Captain's Day winner at Habberley Golf Club, completing the event with a nett 62 off a handicap of 18.
Captain Wayne Keating had arranged the flags in difficult locations on all the greens for this prestigious competition, resulting in double-figure putts on most of the holes.
Result: Mark Cox 80 gross 18 handicap 62 nett, Roland Davies 80-16-54, Tony Greenfield 80-13-65, TV Hawkens (best gross score) 74-6-68, front nine Mike Kirby 27.5, back nine Tony McKenzie 30.5, longest drive Alan French (on the fifth hole), nearest the pin Mike Hannon.
