WHEN my wife and I read Barbara Williams' letter in the Kidderminster Shuttle of June 22, we realised that what her neighbour had suffered when his wife was in hospital was exactly what we had feared would happen to any elderly person wishing to visit a partner in hospital.
Many pensioners do not have cars, many cannot afford taxis, many are too infirm to get onto buses, and there is no direct bus service to any of the hospitals.
We are in our late 80s and our health difficulties are most ably and sympathetically treated at the Bewdley Medical Centre.
But when one of us needs hospital treatment, how will the other be able to visit?
We are most grateful for the valiant efforts of Dr Taylor and his supporters trying to save services at Kidderminster Hospital.
