TODDLERS raised more than £1,000 for charity getting in stride with Jake the llama.

More than 100 children under the age of five took part in a sponsored toddle in West Midland Safari Park, Bewdley, in aid of Barnardo's.

The llama which joined the procession was supported by parents of children's playgroups and nurseries throughout Wyre Forest.

The event was part of a national drive to boost funds to help disadvantaged children and to raise money for nursery groups.

One of the groups to benefit will be the Breakaway project in Kidderminster which helps find families for children with special needs in residential homes.

Last year the Toddle, sponsored by a financial services company Foresters, raised more than £300,000 from the 1,750 pre-school groups, schools and families that took part.
