Blakenall (0) 0 REDDITCH UNITED (0) 0
After two heavy defeats, Redditch stemmed the tide by playing their part in a game short on attacking ideas.
But it could also be that familiarity bred contempt as manager Rob Smith fielded a Reds team with six former Blakenall players.
The first half saw the majority of the few goal-scoring chances with Ross Knight going close with a shot on the run, which was easily dealt with by home keeper Matthew Lowe.
At the other end, Dave Adey created his own problems by gifting Paul Hunter and Ian Cooper chances from poor clearances, but neither of them were taken.
The deadlock was almost broken just before the break when Micky Moore was left in the clear at the near post but his effort was well saved by Lowe.
After the break, neither side were able to carve open any clear cut chances to opening the scoring.
Redditch believed they should have had a penalty when substitute Paul Danks was caught in a challenge with Lowe but their appeals were turned down.
Redditch: Adey, Knight, Love, Barry, Manton, Byrne, Field, Nicholls, Bennett, Moore, Smith. Subs Cross, Danks, Williams.
