On behalf of many elderly men and women, I would like to known where the chairs are that used to be in the entrance hall of Evesham public library.

They were a real boon for us old dears when we have a little while to wait for a bus or a lift home.

Yes, there are hard uncomfortable benches at the bus stop where one is exposed to all kinds of weather.

But please, on behalf of my many friends, could we have some chairs back in the entrance hall to rest and enjoy some company for a little while? - many of us live alone.

Mrs Jo Lippett, St James Drive, Evesham.

Evesham librarian Lynda Downs said: "We do not wish to appear unfriendly, but we do need to use the chairs from time to time in other parts of the library where we hold exhibitions. Elderly people are always very welcome, however, to come and sit inside the library where it is warmer and carpeted."
