As a member of both the visitor management and community safety committees, I cannot for the life of me understand the attitude of Broadway Parish Council.
In the past, both Wychavon DC and Worcester CC have been guilty of riding roughshod over the wishes of Broadway people. Now that we have consultation, exchange of ideas, benefit of local knowledge, some problems can be tackled almost before they arise. Surely a step in the right direction and conducive of good understanding.
The breathtaking arrogance of the assumption that only elected representatives are capable of knowing what is good for Broadway really defies belief.
I wonder how the Lifford Hall project was such a success? However did the millennium celebrations get off the ground? How does the tourist information office run? The Broadway Trust? Goodness knows what more volunteer run parties from Cotswold Wardens are up to?
So, Broadway is in no danger from its volunteers, what does need questioning is the blatant political posturing of some of its elected representatives.
DOTTIE FRIEDLI, High Street, Broadway.
