AS you can see I do not live in Evesham, but this article made me fume; the press officer for Worcester County Council would do well to realise that children are not the only section of the population that the council represents.
I presume that the Gooderhams' pay community charge, and taxes, and therefore they should be allowed some consideration. Why should they have their quality of life ruined for two years?
Where does it say in law that, I quote "They must come first". Why?
There are obviously alternate sites as admitted by the press officer, but they would face a muddy walk, oh dear, are they barefoot?
The Government health bodies are forever wittering on about today's children not getting enough exercise. Even the supermarkets pander to them; providing parking spaces outside the doors so that they do not have to expend any energy before they start sliding up and down the aisles.
There must be room for a degree of compromise here, without the cutting down of trees as mentioned. I hope that the council will have a re-think and realise that the Gooderhams' are more likely to have voted them in than the children.
