STRANGE, we didn't see MP David Lock protesting against the salary and allowances increase Labour MPs voted themselves on coming into office.
Now he considers that local district councillors are not worth paying for the services rendered. However, he makes no complaint about the county councillors' remuneration. Is that because it is a Lab/Lib Dem administration?
For the past 18 years my wife has served her community as a district councillor and I know the amount of effort and commitment needed. Other councillors do the same, giving their time and working for allowances well below the minimum wage.
Nevertheless, there are some councillors who I personally would not pay in buttons and some MPs nothing at all.
