A SUPERB century from James Pipe rescued Worcestershire from disaster on the second day of their Second XI Championship clash with Somerset at Kidderminster.
Replying to a Somerset total of 237, in which Alamgir Sheriyar took 5-61, the County were in deep trouble at 101-7 before Pipe got to work.
His unbeaten 109 came off just 104 balls and contained 17 fours and two sixes, and with the help of the tail, the County eventually totalled 245 for a lead of eight runs.
Somerset closed on 114-3 in their second innings with Matthew Wood making 68, while paceman Chris Liptrot bagged his 50th wicket of the season.
