A SIXTEEN-year-old boy had to be airlifted to hospital with spinal injuries after being freed from the wreckage of a car involved in a road accident.
The male drivers of the two cars involved were also taken to hospital after a Ford Mondeo and a Vauxhall Astra collided on the A4188 between Blakedown and Belbroughton.
Firefighters had to cut through the roof and side of the Astra and lift the 16-year-old onto a spinal board following the incident at 8am on Monday near the entrance to Brookfield Farm.
They then used ladders to pass him over a hedge into a field where the Air Ambulance was waiting to take him to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
The drivers were taken by ambulance to Kidderminster Hospital with injuries which were not thought to be serious.
Leading Firefighter Reg Moule, of Kidderminster Fire Station, said: "It was amazing the Astra driver was able to get out of his car on his own as it was very badly damaged."
