DROPPED catches proved costly for Badsey as Twyning took full advantage to continue their pursuit of Kineton in the race for Division One honours.
Goodwin was the main beneficiary as the visitors chased Badsey's 155-9 when he was dropped while still in single figures. He went on to hit 44 but it was an unbeaten 19 from Brookus, after taking 3-17 with the ball that eventually guided Twyning to a two-wicket win.
A stand of 66 between Wayne Pearse and Brian Jater lifted Badsey to 74-1 at drinks but both batsmen were soon back in the pavilion and only Cowley (43no) steadied a rocky lower order.
Mishaps in the field left Twyning in the ascendancy after tea although tight bowling, particularly from Colin Emms (3-33) kept Badsey in the match.
However, a stand of 58 between Goodwin and Brookes (37) ensured a thrilling finish that Brookus ensured went the way of the visitors.
