OVER NORTON HISTORY GROUP: The programme of speakers for the 2000/2001 season has been confirmed. The programme kicks off on September 28 with Craig Blackwell, talking about the 'Landscape and Ecology of Oxfordshire'. On October 26 David Eddershaw's subject will be 'Hook Norton Brewery', the Peter Tyrell gives an introduction to family trees on November 23, with his subject of 'Genealogy for beginners'. After the Christmas festivities with the Silver Band on December 14, the programme continues with Alan Watkins on January 25, talking about 'Chipping Norton Photographers', Richard Chambers and the 'Identification of Pottery Finds' on February 22, and Dorothy Wise on 'William Morris' on March 22. The final speaker for the season will be Carol Anderson on April 26 on the subject of @The Oxfordshire Museum'' Annual subscriptions for the Group are £5, or visitors can attend the meetings for £1. HOLIDAY ROADSHOW: The Oxfordshire Association for Young People are hosting a holiday roadshow for children aged 8-13 years old at The New Beaconsfield Hall, Shipton Under Wychwood, from August 21/23. Whether you are sports silly or craft crazy, you'll have plenty of fun activities to choose from including football, cricket, short tennis, craft workshops, inflatable games and outdoor fun. CHARITY SALE: A bring and buy sale will be held at Churchill Village Hall on Saturday to help raise funds for The Lawrence Home Nursing Team. The sale starts at 10am and refreshments will be served.
