Flower show: Great Comberton is hoping that August 26 will be an extra fine and still day. At the flower show meeting chairman Mike Newman reported that two residents of the village, Kate Fox and Arthur Collingwood, are to sky dive into the arena. A Cessna aircraft has been chartered and will pick Kate and Arthur up from Bidford Gliding Club. They will jump from about 5,000 feet and free fall about 3,000 feet before opening their chutes and landing in the arena. The meeting elected Bob Rednall to the post of treasurer. It was also reported that the grand draw has attracted excellent prizes. Various changes have been made to the show schedule and there will be a children's area featuring face painting and a bouncy castle. The show will have all the usual attractions and stalls which will include the exemption day show.
