Gardening club: Members met at Bidford car park. It was a very pleasant evening, as they wended their way, on foot, near to the river, to Woodpeckers Garden, Marcliffe, owned by Dr and Mrs Cox. En route, passing through a mature crop of peas, which needed sampling, the chattering of the members walking in crocodile fashion, suddenly stopped. The garden they had gone to see was most impressive and the acreage of it soon tired them. A most enjoyable evening was had by all. Taking the alternative route back to their vehicles, they passed through a herd of beef cattle and so were back to the car park before they even knew it. The next outing will be a visit to Young Plants, Alveston, Stratford on August 23.
