THE Reverend D G Griffin, in his letter (Evening News, Monday, July 31), described liberal churchmen as those who are pro-women priests and homosexual practices.
He described those churchmen who oppose these practices as traditionalist.
These are items of church politics, not of belief. This argument will persist as long as the Church of England remains a state church, because Downing Street's agenda is different than that of God.
Successive incumbents of No 10 are only interested in appealing to Middle England. God, however, loves us all.
In the Old Testament, God punished the transgressors of Sodom and Gomorrah.
In the New Testament, Jesus taught us to love one another, but He was not referring to sexual love.
For reasons of political expediency, our society has traded moral values for modern attitudes.
