IT has been a long time since I read such a load of sheer rubbish as Anita Knittel's letter (Evening News, Wednesday, August 9).
The fact that she accuses John Phillpott of having tunnel vision, bearing in mind her own vegan, anti-farming, anti-field sports, anti-Worcester market, anti-vivisection sentiments expressed so often in this publication, I find beyond belief.
To prove the tunnel vision of herself and other "animal welfare campaigners", as these people like to call themselves, they claimed a victory by stopping live exports of sheep.
But they never asked themselves what happened to all those animals that were destined for the Continent.
Did they think that someone waved a magic wand and they all disappeared? Or did they think that all of a sudden the fields doubled in size to accommodate them?
No, what happened was that thousands of them ended up being halal slaughtered because there was nowhere else for them to go. All sent there by the actions of Ms Knittel's friends.
That, Anita, is what I call tunnel vision.
