A DULL day failed to deter 35 local supporters from turning out to see Pete Gisbourne race at Mallory Park last weekend when he again lived up to his winning ways.
The first race saw him starting from the fifth row of the grid only to pick the competition off one by one to come in third overall and first in his class beating 1000cc and 1100cc bikes on his Bernie Saunders VFR750.
During the race he blistered the back tyre and warped the front disc from heavy braking.
Nick Webb replaced both items for the second race, which saw Gisbourne have a second overall finish and first in his class for maximum championship points.
The third race saw Gisbourne storm off the second row into first place and he led from the start until the rain came down midway through making it hard for Gisbourne to stop his bike sliding around after choosing to go out on slicks.
He eventually crossed the line in second.
Thanks are due to sponsor Chris Dudley of Dudleys Coaches for laying on a coach to transport the spectators.
