A TRIO of top swimmers from Evesham have just returned from the World Masters Championships in Germany.
They joined around 7,000 other competitors from around the world in the former Olympic pool in Munich, where Mark Spitz won his record haul of gold medals in 1972.
With medals being awarded for the top eight finishers in each age group the Evesham swimmers managed to bring home a good selection.
Michelle Dige and Jackie Grace were the female half of the Heart of England Masters team that took Gold in the 160+ years mixed medley relay.
The former swam well in her individual events earning medals in the 50m and 100m butterfly in eighth and seventh places respectively, while also finishing eighth in the 50m freestyle.
She just missed out on a medal when touching tenth in the 100m freestyle.
Grace won medals in all three of the backstroke events - 50m, 100m, and 200m - with an eighth and a brace of seventh place finishes.
Rosemarie Green finished in the top ten in both the 200m and 100m breaststroke.
She also competed in the 5K open water swim which took place in the Olympic rowing lake, swimming a good race to finish sixth to claim a much deserved medal.
