WORCESTERSHIRE face a mammoth task today if they are to salvage anything from their Second XI Championship match with Somerset at Kidderminster.

After losing 22 overs to the rain yesterday, Somerset moved from their overnight total of 114-3 to an impressive 383 all out at the close of play, with rain preventing Worcestershire from beginning their fightback.

The home side now face a huge final day target of 376 from 96 overs, a run rate of nearly four per over.

A solid 117 from Wesley Durston and Chris Hunkin's 76 not out pushed Somerset towards victory, while pacemen Alamgir Sheriyar (3-85) and Chris Liptrot (3-100) were the best of the bowling for Worcestershire.

Worcestershire will need a rain-free day if they are to stand any chance of turning the tables on Somerset.
