MALVERN Town Football Club has secured a three-year sponsorship agreement with Malvern Instruments, one of the region's leading international businesses.
Malvern Instruments was founded in Malvern nearly thirty years ago with origins in the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment (RSRE), one of the Ministry of Defence's premier research establishments.
The company, which develops and manufactures scientific instrumentation used for measuring the size of particles in a multitude of manufacturing processes, has grown substantially in the intervening years to become a truly global operation and a leader in its field.
Remaining loyal to its roots, however, Malvern Instruments operates from custom-built facilities at the Enigma Business Park. The company is a significant local employer and actively supports organisations and initiatives in and around the Malvern area.
Paul Walker, managing director of Malvern Instruments, is delighted to be involved in providing practical support to Malvern Town FC.
He said: "I hope that our three-year sponsorship will contribute to the continued development of Malvern Town FC. We take great pleasure in being part of the club's future and are confident that our association with them will be both beneficial and enjoyable for both parties. We wish Malvern Town a very successful season and will be following their progress in the coming months with particular interest!"
Malvern Town assistant manager and club spokesman Richard Anson said: "We are delighted and flattered to be sponsored by Malvern Instruments. The company is not just a significant organisation within the Malvern area, but is a true global player in its field.
"Indeed the deal has benefits that go beyond the financial implications, as I believe it gives credibility to the football club and is recognition of the gradual development we have made over the past four years. Certainly, we believe that this will be a successful partnership and one that will continue to grow."
Anson also paid tribute to Clarke Roxburgh who had sponsored the first team for the previous four seasons.
"Clarke Roxburgh have been very generous and loyal sponsors and we are indebted to them, in fact we are absolutely delighted to announce that we have agreed a package with them this year, that will see them take out ground and programme advertising, plus some match sponsorships but, most importantly, they will sponsor our Under 16's Stourport Boys League side. This really is a tremendous gesture on their behalf."
Town start their League fixtures tomorrow (Saturday) with a visit to Tividale and then host Lye Town on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
