DROITWICH Spa matchman Rob Francis (Ovation Leisure) followed on from his previous week's good form by winning the Monday Broad Acres evening open with 21-11-0 of mixed fish by pole fishing casters up in the water at peg seven.
Second placed Keith Deaner (Redditch) had 20-1-0, third was Mark Bradley (Alvechurch) with 18-12-0.
The Starlets Veterans of Northfield fished its regular Tuesday contest at Woodlands View's Arles Pool and Bewdley's Stan James made it three wins on the trot from peg 29 where he pole fished casters and maggots up in the water for 55-4-0. Second Ken Giles (Alvechurch) 45-2-0, third Brian Hill (Bewdley) 27-5-0.
Also at Woodlands View, the Deans Pool open was won by John Watkins (Woodlands) with a pole and meat catch of 61-14-0 from peg 64. Second Dave Markham (Woodlands) 56-13-0, third Mark Tooze (Tromans) 56-5-0.
At Moorlands Farm, the Steadfast Junior open saw winner 14-year-old Aaron Munslow (DC Lifestyle) take 73-10-0 of carp with pole and corn from Meadow Pool peg three. Second Grant Nock (Halesowen) 36-1-0, third Danny Bache (Cleobury Mortimer) 32-4-0.
Wednesday's Meadow Pool open was headed by Steve Watson (Strettons) with a waggler and meat catch of 89-1-0 from peg 45. Second Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) 68-4-0, third Mick Henshaw (Fosters MG) 65-10-0.
The Meadow Pool was also the scene for the evening open and Clive Munslow moved up a notch to claim first place with 75-2-0 from peg 50 with short pole and corn. Second Nick Cullis (Parkes) 60-10-0, third Mick Henshaw (Fosters MG) 56-6-0.
Astwood Fisheries' Bluebell Pool open saw a runaway victory for Ron Fowler (Weoley Castle) when he pole fished meat at peg 20 for 44-6-0 of carp. Second Alan Hodgkins (Phoenix) 25-10-0, third Ernie Morris (Good Intent) 22-4-0.
The Woodlands View Arles Pool open was won by Chris Hall (Greens Tackle) by pole fishing meat up in the water at peg 11 for 61-14-0. Second Vince Gandley (Shakespeare) 50-2-0, third Mick Williams (Shrews Bait) 46-8-0.
The evening open was a big scoring event for Klaus Fix (Middy Central) with fish up to ten pounds in his 134-1-0 catch taken with pole and meat from Arles peg 18. Second Nick Hill (Woodlands) 97-14-0, third Frank Taylor (Tim's Tackle) 83-8-0.
At Elmbridge, Droitwich 12-year-old George Brown won the Leeda-sponsored junior open with a pole and meat catch of 16-0-0, second James Newman (Worcester) 15-4-0, third Simon Hughes (Droitwich) 9-12-0.
On Thursday, the Broad Acres Leeda Junior open saw Bromsgrove's Peter Bailey draw bonus peg ten, where he took a winning 14-12-0 with pole fished corn from the margins. Runners-up were the Newton brothers from Redditch, Sam had 7-7-0, with Jake taking 5-4-0.
Friday's Broad Acres open saw Rob Francis (Ovation Leisure) take a winning 34-5-0 of skimmers with pole and corn down the margins of peg nine. Second Chris Newton (New End AC), third Graham Upton (Athol AC) 16-7-0.
Moorlands Farm's Costcutter open was held on the Meadow Pool where Lee Richards (Fosters MG) started his daily double with a mammoth catch of 145-9-0 of carp with pole and corn from peg 35. Second Clive Munslow (Preston Innovations) 95-11-0, third Steve Watson (Strettons) 77-5-0.
Lee then went on to score another ton-up catch of 108-14-0 at the evening Meadow Pool event from peg 17 on pole and corn. Fourteen-year-old Aaron Munslow (DC Lifestyle) followed with 94-13-0, third Mick Henshaw (Fosters MG) 92-5-0.
On Saturday, the annual BT Interclub Three Way Challenge between Telfish, Fulcrum and Northampton was held on the River Avon at Wasperton which fished particularly hard in the clear conditions.
Terry Goldinghay (Telfish) took the top individual honours from a peg just below the aeroplane propeller, where he alternated feeder and stick float with maggots for five chub that took the scales round to a modest 6-12-0.
Norman Dodd (Northampton) was at the next downstream peg and had 4-11-0, third Don Perks (Telfish) 3-5-0. Telfish took the team trophy with 15-6-8, Northampton 10-8-0 and Fulcrum 9-3-4.
Rob Francis (Ovation Leisure) made it three on the trot at the Broad Acres afternoon open by pole fishing casters at peg 15 for a mainly skimmer catch of 32-13-0. Second Tony Delves (Ovation Leisure) 25-1-0, third Brian Williams (Redditch) 16-12-0.
Tony Delves (Ovation Leisure) moved up to first place at the Sunday Astwood Fisheries Buddleia Pool open where he pole fished worms at peg 80 for 25-3-0 of tench. Second Steve Darby (Kings Oak) 20-0-0, third Brian Goodchild (Austin SS) 19-2-0.
Kings Norton AS's ten-man side challenged Birmingham Civil Service AS at Kinwarton on the River Alne, and the homesters took the honours with 102 points to Birmingham's 125. Bromsgrove's John Miller saved face for the civil service by taking a winning 2-13-0 of chub with pole and casters from peg 23. Second Terry Morris (KNAS) 2-1-0, third Dean Harvey (BCSAS) 1-15-0.
At Moorlands Farm, the Moors Pool open was won by Mal Talbot (VDE Essex) with a pole and corn carp catch of 103-8-0 from peg nine. Second Chris Hill (Fosters MG) 79-6-0, third Neil McKinnon (Gloucester) 62-2-0.
The three-hour evening Meadow Pool event was headed by Chris Hill (Fosters MG) with 74-9-0 taken with pole and corn from peg 47. Second John Taylor (Preston Innovations) 66-10-0, third Clive Faulkner (KYE Telford) 60-4-0.
A new fishery record was set at the Woodlands View open, and ironically it was current holder Kevin Slade (AOK) who broke his own year-long record weight of 183-0-0, with 203-0-0 of carp from Deans Pool peg 38 with pole fished meat.
Second placed Terry Butler (MFF) didn't miss out on the action by taking 163-1-0, with third placed Pete Ricketts (Woodlands) on 138-9-0.
Wyre Forest Fishery Furnace Mill also saw some good catches with Ray Lamb (BCD Trading) topping the list with a 72-10-0 carp haul from Mucky Meadow Pool peg 35 taken with pole fished worms. Second Martin Amphlett (The Force) 57-10-0, third Darren Dimmock (Furnace Mill) 49-0-0.
