THREE orchestras will be contributing to the seven concerts making up the Cheltenham Orchestral Series.

All the concerts are being held at Cheltenham Town Hall and the series opens on Friday, October 6, with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

The orchestra will be under the baton of a guest conductor James Judd, musical director of the Florida Philharmonic and New Zealand Symphony orchestras, with a programme including work by Vaughan Williams, Holst and Mussorgsky.

The orchestra will be appearing again on November 17 and February 17.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will be appearing on November 30 and March 30, while the Orchestra of St John's will be at the venue on January 25.

The series is completed by the London Mozart Players, appearing on Tuesday, October 24, accompanied by cellist Natalie Clein. Ticket and programme information is available from 01242 227979.
