TALENTED youngsters from Bromsgrove will be heading for the prestigious Millennium Youth Games on Thursday.
About 30 children will compete in Southampton along with 6,000 other hopefuls from across the country.
The district's U13s mixed swimming team and the U15s girls' footballers will be among the 100-strong Worcestershire team.
They qualified for the Sports England-organised event after winning the county finals.
The children will stay in an Olympic-style village during the sports festival before their return to Bromsgrove on Sunday.
Among the teams they will compete against are strong squads from Greater Manchester and Leeds.
Bromsgrove District Council's Sports Development Unit organised the district teams which took part in the county games in May.
