TWO martial art students from the Malvern School of Tae Kwondo, Jason Vaughan and Richard Jones, were selected to represent England against Ireland in an Action International Martial Arts Association friendly tournament.
The competition at the Thorn Leisure Centre, near Doncaster, was held as a warm up event for the World Championships to be held in Dublin late September.
Both Jason and Richard, who also now instruct at Ledbury and Worcester respectively, came up against strong opponents but persevered to win their bouts convincingly, the final outcome of the team event being a draw.
This resulted in a last fight decider which, unfortunately for England team , saw Ireland victorious.
