A LEARNER driver has been banned from the road for nine months after driving without insurance or a test certificate.
Worcester magistrates were told that Jethro Smith was pulled over by police in Malvern on Saturday, March 4, for not wearing his seatbelt.
"He admitted that he didn't have any insurance. He did have a passenger in the car but wasn't displaying learner plates," said Julian Harris, prosecuting.
Smith, of Cales Avenue, Malvern, admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with his licence, driving without insurance, and without an MoT certificate.
A charge of failing to wear his seatbelt was withdrawn as well as failing to produce his driving documents.
The 26-year-old, representing himself, said he was sorry.
He was given six points for driving otherwise than in accordance with his licence and was fined £10.
For driving without insurance he was fined £220 and given eight penalty points. For not having a test certificate he was fined £30.
He was banned for nine months under the totting-up procedure.
