I WAS most interested in your feature on the TV licence police.
I have noticed that they always prey on the easy targets, areas of cities where there are lots of students at the beginning of term etc.
What is never made clear to the public is the cost of this policing.
Your article mentioned that TV detector vans will descend on the county from "all over Wales and the West to catch licence dodgers".
Experience tells me how much it costs to run a fleet of smaller vans that the detectors use.
I am sure these people are not working for peanuts.
The equipment inside the vans must be expensive.
Let's save all this money and put up with a few more commercials!
I would much prefer to filter out a few more ads than fork out an ever increasing sum of money each year for a service that I watch less and less.
