A MAN conned staff at a Kidderminster shop when he used a stolen mobile phone as security for borrowed cash.
He borrowed £5 at the town centre store, claiming he needed the money to buy petrol for his wife whose car had broken down - but the phone he exchanged had been stolen two hours earlier in a burglary on the Hoobrook Industrial Estate.
Police are hunting the man, who was white, 5ft 6ins, in his mid 20s with a stocky build, blond crew cut hair and had a black mountain bike and Reebok rucksack at the time of the incident on Thursday, August 10.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been similarly deceived and can be contacted on 01562 820888.
